You can now recycle your food scraps. Each bin room has 1 small maroon lid bin for food scraps ONLY. No other items are to be disposed of in the food scraps bin.
Garbage bins, and recycling bins, are located in three garbage rooms in the basement car park. The current contract with our cleaners requires them to bring the bins out on Monday, Wednesday & Thursday early morning as arranged with City of Sydney Council. The amount of garbage and recycling may sometimes exceed the capacity of a garbage room. If that happens, please be considerate to others by using another garbage room if the room you normally use is full. Please don't just pile things on top of the bins or on the floor for someone else to deal with. It's antisocial and costs all of us more when we have to pay our cleaners to do significant extra work.
Alternatively, you can go to the main garbage room at the top of the driveway and deposit your garbage in the bins there. Please remember to close the roller door to keep out animals.
For residents in 38 Saunders St where a chute is available in each floor lobby chute room, please ensure your rubbish packages are well packed and clean enough to avoid dirtying the chute. If you make the chute dirty, chute cleaning will be required to maintain common area hygienic. The extra cleaning cost may be carried by all the units on the levels we found that the inside of the chute was dirty. The package of rubbish shall be small and light enough to avoid damaging the rubbish bin underneath the chute. You may consider going to the basement bin room to dispose the rubbish if you are unsure whether it is fit for disposal through the chute.
If you have furniture, white goods or other metal household items that need to be disposed of, the City of Sydney council provides a free collection service.
Items for collection are to be left on the footpath against the black tiled wall, left side of the main garbage room at the top of the driveway, on Monday, before an available council collection date ONCE you have arranged a pick up.
Collections take place on Tuesdays from 6am with a min of 48 business hours notice. To request a collection please email buildingmanager@venetianpyrmont.com with your name, apartment number, contact number and the items to be collected.
Before you request a collection please read the following information on what the council will and will not collect and how to prepare your items for collection:

Preparing for your collection
It’s important to follow the rules. It keeps our workers and your neighbours safe. We can’t pick up items that are not properly prepped.
Separate your whitegoods and metal items from your furniture as they are picked up by different trucks.
Use tape to seal fridge/oven doors (to protect children).
Wrap and label sharp or dangerous items like mirrors and glass.
Cut large rugs into 1m lengths, roll and tie them with string or tape. Otherwise, they can jam our compactors.
Put small items into boxes, loose materials won’t be collected.
Keep your pick-up to 1 cubic metre per booking (about a box trailer load).
Make sure all items (except whitegoods) are less than 1.5m or 100kg.
Monday is the only date for placing the eligible items on the street for council collection, or passers-by may add to the pile and the entire pile may be considered illegal dumping and rejected by the council collection crew, potentially resulting in a fine.
Please note, only building management team is eligible to contact council and book the bulky item pickup. Do not contact council yourself for the booking.
